Lang man found well

Rutherglen Reformer - - News - Liz Leydon

A Cambuslang pensioner who was reported missing last week has been found safe and well.

James Whitelaw, 67, (pictured) had only recently returned to the area from Australia when he was reported missing by his family last Monday.

His concerned relatives couldn’t reach James, who has limited mobility, because he did not have his mobile phone with him. James has been staying in the Scottish Specials in Halfway, Cambuslang and had last been seen at an address in Cessnock Place.

However, on Saturday his delighted nephew Ian Seymour took to social media and said:“My uncle has been found safe and well and is en route back to Glasgow at the moment.

“Thank you all for your continued support, it’s very much appreciated. Just glad he’s been found safe!”

A police spokesman confirmed the Cambuslang man had been traced.

Before James was found PC Karen Hay from Cambuslang police office said:“James has been going through some personal issues recently and therefore his family and friends are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.”
