Women and kids in hos­pi­tal af­ter fight

Two women and eight chil­dren were taken to hos­pi­tal af­ter an in­ci­dent in Castlemilk in the early hours of yes­ter­day morn­ing.

Po­lice were called to the scene at a flat on Raith­burn Road af­ter re­ports of a fight break­ing out around 4.40am.

Of­fi­cers taped off three closes and a large grassed area at around 6.30am.

Ac­cord­ing to eye­wit­ness re­ports, po­lice ve­hi­cles blocked off the road and two women and eight chil­dren were taken to the Queen El­iz­a­beth Univer­sity Hos­pi­tal.

A Po­lice Scot­land spokesman said:“Around 4.40am this morn­ing, po­lice were called to a re­port of a dis­tur­bance at a flat in Raith­burn Road, Castlemilk.

“Emer­gency ser­vices at­tended and a num­ber of peo­ple were taken to Queen El­iz­a­beth Univer­sity Hos­pi­tal.

“En­quiries are at a very early stage. Po­lice re­main in the area con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.”
