Whole tooth af­ter as­sault

Miss­ing front teeth were a de­cid­ing fac­tor in charg­ing two men af­ter a fight in Ruther­glen on Satur­day af­ter­noon.

The pair, aged 21 and 26, were ar­rested af­ter po­lice were called to the in­ci­dent in a com­mu­nal close on Barn­flat Street, Farme Cross, at 1pm.

Ini­tially the in­ci­dent was thought to be a se­ri­ous as­sault as one man was miss­ing two front teeth.

How­ever, it was later dis­cov­ered they had been miss­ing for some time and that charges were re­duced to as­sault and re­sist­ing ar­rest by lash­ing out.

The younger man was held in cus­tody, while the 26-year-old was re­ported.
