£600 gift to school
A school reunion has given youngsters a cash boost.
Organisers of the Rutherglen Academy school reunion, held recently at the town hall, have handed over their surplus funds to Stonelaw High.
That means a £600 lift for Stonelaw, which will go towards the school’s music and PE departments.
Connie Young, who helped organise the reunion, was joined by her brother David Lang to hand over the cheque to Stonelaw head teacher Brenda McLachan.
Connie said:“Brenda made us so welcome and we talked about the old school and the new one for over an hour.
“What an impressive, warm and engaging person Brenda is – with high ambitions for her pupils’ achievements.”
