Fu­neral of pub land­lord

The fu­neral of a pop­u­lar Ruther­glen pub land­lord takes place to­day (Wed­nes­day).

Gra­ham Bis­sett’s fu­neral ser­vice is sched­uled for 2pm at Linn Cre­ma­to­rium in Castlemilk.

The 58-year-old grand­fa­ther, who ran The Cathkin Inn, was found dead in the pub last Mon­day morn­ing.

The Ruther­glen com­mu­nity was left stunned by the death of Gra­ham, who leaves be­hind a wife, son and daugh­ter.

Gra­ham, orig­i­nally from Fern­hill, was well known for his great sense of hu­mour and used to en­ter­tain as a DJ and im­per­son­ator be­fore tak­ing over man­age­ment of The Cathkin Inn.

His act of­ten in­cluded dress­ing up in an Elvis suit and belt­ing out songs, as well as wear­ing com­edy masks to liven up the crowds.

Gra­ham was due to give up The Cathkin Inn pub on the week he died.

Po­lice Scot­land said last week that there were no sus­pi­cious cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing Mr Bis­sett’s death.
