A helping hand for housing day
South Lanarkshire Council’s Housing and Technical Resources recently threw their support behind Scottish Housing Day 2018.
A series of events took place with the aim of raising awareness of the latest developments in housing and helping people understand and make informed decisions.
The teams’fundraising activities collected more than £1200 for the charity Who Cares? Scotland. The charity’s Ewen, Andrew and Sharon met the Housing Services teams and also visited a South Lanarkshire flat set up to give young people some experience of what living independently is like.
Annette Finnan, head of housing, said:“Last year for Scottish Housing Day we fundraised to support local food banks and I’m delighted that once again our teams have been outstanding in raising more than £1200 for this worthy cause.”
Who Cares? Scotland advocacy worker Ewen Kerr said:“We are grateful to South Lanarkshire for inviting us to join them on Scottish Housing Day and for raising money for our charity. It’s greatly appreciated by everyone at our organisation.”
