A charity night will take place in a Rutherglen pub this Saturday to help young footballers compete against foreign opponents.

The fundraiser will be held in the Victoria Bar, and the club hope local businesses can donate raffle prizes.

Lynn O’Brien, a member of Red Star’s committee, said: “As a local grassroots football team we try to provide children with a range of experiences that they will remember, and by doing this we hope that the skills, qualities and experiences gained throughout their time with the club stay with them.

“The charity night is to raise some much-needed funds to buy extra training and match equipment and to provide children with the opportunity to enter a football tournament further afield to play against teams from all over the world.”

Anyone willing to donate prizes should email cambuslangredstarfc@ outlook.com.
