Shop worker is threatened
ROBBERS armed with a machete and small handgun threatened to ‘burn’ a shop worker during a raid.
Police said the two men entered the One Stop shop on Errwood Road in Burnage and attacked the till before threatening to burn the worker.
As one of the offenders returned to the car, the victim lowered the shutters forcing the pair to flee in a black Ford Mondeo.
One offender was white, about 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build, with blue eyes and had his face covered. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and grey tracksuit trousers. The second was white, slightly smaller, of stocky or fat build and was wearing dark clothing.
The incident happened shortly after 9am on Sunday, February 8.
Detective Constable Amanda Douglass, said: “The threat of violence was extreme and excessive, thankfully the victim remained calm.”
