Charlotte gets the chop for charity:
‘She was absolutely determined’
A GENEROUS youngster had her long blonde hair lopped off for charity after being inspired by her favourite actress.
Charlotte Fagan, 13, from Timperley, decided to have the chop in aid of The GHQ Prince’s Trust, a charity that provides wigs for children who have lost their hair through illness or cancer treatment.
As well as getting sponsorship to raise cash for the charity, The Loreto Grammar School pupil has also donated her hair.
Her mum Ann-Marie Fagan said Charlotte was inspired by Jennifer Lawrence, her favourite actress, and singer Jessie J who have both undergone extreme haircuts.
Ann-Marie said: “She heard about the GHQ Prince’s Trust and just became inspired by the idea of it - she couldn’t be talked out of it.
“I did make her wait a couple of months to make sure she was sure, as I was concerned she would regret it, but she was absolutely determined.”
Charlotte had her hair cut at Tony & Guy in Altrincham, where manager Mark Knott did the cut for free himself after hearing about her charity bid.
“It was really good of him and he did such a great job,” Ann-Marie said. “Charlotte was nervous beforehand but she is pleased with it and everyone has been saying how much it suits her.
“She wanted to raise £350 as that’s how much is costs to provide a child with a wig, but so far she has got around £700 which is brilliant.”
And Charlotte has not stopped there – she is continuing to raise cash, and has even been playing her guitar and singing with the Loose Change charity buskers in Altrincham.
