FAMILIES got into the festive spirit by creating a spectacular Christmas tree-lined promenade at a city supermarket.

The Morrisons store in Eccles invited its customers to help them decorate in time for Christmas – and the first 100 people to arrive had the opportunity to take home one of the trees for free

Those not lucky enough to take home a Christmas tree were still able to sample free festive nibbles, including mince pies and puddings and enter a competition for tickets to the Jingle Bell Ball pop concert.

The London Gospel Choir also performed Christmas carols and at the event.

Store manager John Bohanna said: “We wanted to kick off the Christmas season by offering residents a festive extravaganza where they could eat, be merry and transform the store into a festive wonderland.”
