SOCIAL adVentures, with Emma Smith SOCIAL adVentures were delighted to win the health and social care category at the 2014 Social Enterprise UK Awards - held last week at the beautiful LSO St Luke’s in London.
Peter Holbrook, social enterprise chief executive, said: “The awards are a fantastic celebration of Britain’s very best social enterprises and champions of the sector.
“Each year the awards help shine a light on the extraordinary work social enterprises are doing to help people and planet.
“Competition was tougher than ever this year and the shortlist was bursting with inspiring examples of how businesses can have a positive impact on society – the winners deserve to be widely recognised and celebrated.”
Simone Sharrock, service manager, said: “The night was fantastic, it was amazing to win this award – there were some brilliant organisations shortlisted for the health and social care category.”
Social Adventures is an innovative social enterprise jointly owned by its employees, service users and local residents.
The organisation aims to inspire local people to lead happier and healthier lives by providing a variety of services based on the five ways to wellbeing – connect, be active, take notice, learn and give.
