SO­CIAL ad­Ven­tures, with Emma Smith SO­CIAL ad­Ven­tures were de­lighted to win the health and so­cial care cat­e­gory at the 2014 So­cial En­ter­prise UK Awards - held last week at the beau­ti­ful LSO St Luke’s in London.

Peter Hol­brook, so­cial en­ter­prise chief ex­ec­u­tive, said: “The awards are a fan­tas­tic cel­e­bra­tion of Bri­tain’s very best so­cial en­ter­prises and cham­pi­ons of the sec­tor.

“Each year the awards help shine a light on the ex­tra­or­di­nary work so­cial en­ter­prises are do­ing to help peo­ple and planet.

“Com­pe­ti­tion was tougher than ever this year and the short­list was burst­ing with in­spir­ing ex­am­ples of how busi­nesses can have a pos­i­tive im­pact on so­ci­ety – the win­ners de­serve to be widely recog­nised and cel­e­brated.”

Si­mone Shar­rock, ser­vice man­ager, said: “The night was fan­tas­tic, it was amaz­ing to win this award – there were some bril­liant or­gan­i­sa­tions short­listed for the health and so­cial care cat­e­gory.”

So­cial Ad­ven­tures is an in­no­va­tive so­cial en­ter­prise jointly owned by its em­ploy­ees, ser­vice users and lo­cal res­i­dents.

The or­gan­i­sa­tion aims to in­spire lo­cal peo­ple to lead hap­pier and health­ier lives by pro­vid­ing a va­ri­ety of ser­vices based on the five ways to well­be­ing – con­nect, be ac­tive, take no­tice, learn and give.
