Thieves smashed their way into a pri­mary school and stole more than £10,000 worth of equip­ment.

The of­fend­ers broke into Lin­den Road Academy and stole 40 iPad Mini tablets and six lap­tops on Tues­day.

Deputy head­teacher Peter Greaves said: “They took forty iPads, which the chil­dren use to learn in a num­ber of ways. We had them in a cabi­net that the chil­dren use. This will af­fect chil­dren’s learn­ing – they were a sig­nif­i­cant in­vest­ment by the school.”
