The last scootering adventure of the year for us is normally a long ride to Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire, but this year we got the luxury of a seven mile journey toWarmwell in the lovely Dorset countryside. Wedidn’t even need the day off!
Onarrival you could sense the end of seasonparty atmosphere was already evident, everyone arriving seemedexcited for what was in store. After the usual meet and greet and a chat or two, we went chalet hopping foradrink or threewith friends– big thanks to A5 for your hospitality (especially Pimms and vodka jellies!). We later left the luxurious cabins behind and headed for the do. With a warm and busy main room and a full up soul room, it was clear the party had started! More drinks and a fair bit of banter ended only as we had to leave to meet Guernsey Elite SC who had a delayed ferry, bless them.
Still, Saturday soon came around and on walking in to the complex the bar and parts fair were ticking over nicely. Pleasing to the eye was how many people did make the effort to ride with some nice scoots parked out front to catch the wandering eyes.
After some photos and food it was our duty to go off chalet hopping again, warming up for the main event. Basket Case – the best rally band around in my opinion – were the live act and they once again rocked the main room as they plundered their library of classic punk tunes.
The soul room was full as well and a great evening was had by all, a fact I know by the amount of wobbly people heading for bed later on!
When Sunday came I would think everyone leaving smiled all the way home. It was a great way to end the season and if you haven’t been, put Warmwell on your calendar for next year.
