Scootering

ALAN LEGGE, THE OWNER’ S STORY

-

“Andy Lines of Slick Scooter Services in Stroud originally built this scooter and it had changed hands a few times before I got it. After riding it for a short time it was stripped down, the engine was a bit tired so it was swapped for a fully rebuilt P200 lump. The forks and a few other parts went to the chromers, while the original paintwork had some artwork added and the scoot went under the name of Bitter Fingers. It picked up a few trophies here and there and I was quite happy with it. But then a chance encounter with a custom painter changed all that. Percy’s Badbrush Dezines works in the same village where I live. He saw the chop, I saw his work and we agreed that a Hellboy theme would really suit the chop. You only live once; ‘Let’s do it,’ I said. So once again the chop was stripped, various parts were purchased. Some new twisted forks were eventually sorted and the artwork was handled by Percy, who I must say kept me in the loop and worked tirelessly to create exactly what I wanted. When you give this guy something to copy that’s exactly what you get. It was finished at the beginning of 2015 and so far it has taken over a dozen firsts, including Best paint (Llandudno), Best chop (DISC 30) and Best custom Vespa (IOW) to name a few.”
