We can’t let Trump the bigot win, Hillary tells Democrats
HILLARY Clinton has told Americans their country is at a ‘moment of reckoning’, warning voters of the dangers of entrusting the country to a ‘bombastic bigot’ like Donald Trump.
In a keynote speech at the Democratic Convention in Philadelphia, she accepted their presidential nomination and highlighted fears about her outspoken Republican rival.
She said: ‘Imagine him, if you dare, in the Oval Office facing a real crisis. A man you can bait with a Tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.’
However, polls show Americans also have serious reservations about Mrs Clinton who they see as untrustworthy and in the pocket of Wall Street.
Dressed in a simple white trouser suit, the first female presidential contender for a major party sold herself to the sceptics as an experienced, reliable and hard-working politician – not to

mention devoted mother and grandmother – who ‘sweats the details of policy’ to get the best for ordinary Americans.
It was an obvious contrast to the glamour of the billionaire Mr Trump and his glitzy family, as was her insistence on outlining a long list of policy plans.
Mr Trump has said virtually nothing about how he intends to carry out his bold promises.
‘To drive real progress, you have to change both hearts and laws,’ she said in a clear jab at idealistic rivals on both Left and Right.
A beaming Mrs Clinton was introduced as the convention’s final speaker by her daughter, Chelsea, who said Mrs Clinton had been inspired by her own mother’s deeply impoverished childhood.
But Donald Trump later tweeted: ‘No one has worse judgment than Hillary Clinton – corruption and devastation follows her wherever she goes.’
