General strike will be a major flop

Scottish Daily Mail - - Weekender -

WHEN the miners tried to force the country to its knees in 1974, I and millions like me finished our homework by candlelight amid power-cuts and the Three-Day Week.

The mining unions were at it again in 1984 by which time I was learning about the 1926 General Strike – also over, yes, miners.

Now the unions are restive again. Len ‘Call Me Mandela’ McCluskey of Unite hints at illegal strike action, feeding the ‘Everybody out!’ fantasies of his hard-Left acolytes.

Talk about being doomed to repeat history. The mine unions of 1984 are broken and the 1926 General Strike miners were forced back with longer hours and less pay.

Careful what you wish for, Comrades.
