Out of the mouths of babes

-

My 11-yEAR-OLD grandson is a keen golfer and, following a lesson at his north Leeds club, he called his mum to ask if she would collect him at 5pm because he was playing a round of golf with ‘a man’. Concerned mum: ‘A man? What man?’ Grandson: ‘Just a man.’ Mum: ‘What do you mean “just a man”? Who is this man? Where is he from?’ Grandson: ‘He’s a friend from school: Aman.’ Mum, quickly digging herself out of a hole: ‘Oh, why didn’t you say so in the first place? I’ll pick you up at 5pm then. Bye.’
