SIR IAIN MCMILLAN

ONE of Scotland’s most respected public figures, Sir Iain was director of CBI Scotland for nearly 20 years until he retired in 201 . Before joining the business body, he was a leading figure in Scotland’s financial services industry and worked with the TSB Group for 23 years. He has advised the Government on education issues as member of its standing literacy commission. He was knighted for services to the Scots economy in 2015 and still holds posts in the business and charity sectors.

RHONA IRVING

RHONA Irving, regarded as one of Scotland’s top tax experts, spent most of her career at accountanc­y giant PwC until her retirement in 2014. She has contribute­d to business and the developmen­t of public policy in Scotland in a number of roles, including membership of the CBI Scotland council. In 2006, Miss Irving became the leader of PwC’s tax team, which deals with corporate and indirect tax, private client work, human resources advice and pensions consultanc­y. She was made a partner at the firm in 1991.

ANTHONY RUSH

RESPECTED company director Anthony Rush is semi-retired. He served as chairman of the Paisley-based constructi­on company Barr Ltd and was credited with turning round the company’s fortunes. Mr Rush changed the way the firm operated by splitting it into four units. Previously, he held a number of senior positions with a wide range of leading constructi­on companies including Tarmac, The Lilley Group, Hatfield Developmen­ts Ltd, Eden Homes and Shanks McEwan Constructi­on Ltd. JACK Perry CBE was chief executive of the jobs quango Scottish Enterprise for nearly six years, until 2009. His main role was trying to attract investment to the country. Before this, he was managing partner of Ernst & Young in Glasgow and served as regional Industry leader for Scotland and Northern Ireland in its technology and communicat­ions arm. Mr Perry was chairman of CBI Scotland from 2001-03, and was awarded a CBE in 2010. He is now chairman of the European Assets Trust.
