cofounder Paul Allen is to invest $125million (£90million) in a research project to develop common sense in artificial intelligen­ce machines.

If it works, they’re going to try it with Humza Yousaf. Last weekend our transport minister was on Twitter rounding up ‘additional resources’ because STV weatherman Sean Batty had complained about delays while leaving a supermarke­t car park.

Maybe Mr Yousaf will give me a hand the next time I’m queueing at Edinburgh’s Maybury roundabout. Or do I need BBC forecaster Kawser Quamer, pictured, in the passenger seat?
