IS threat to behead Messi and Ronaldo at World Cup
ISLAMIC State fanatics have threatened to behead Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at next month’s World Cup.
The terror group released a mock-up photo showing the Real Madrid and Barcelona stars having their throats cut in a packed football stadium.
They are depicted lying on the ground next to each other with blood gushing from their throats and two terrorists kneeling on their backs. The caption reads: ‘The ground will be filled with your blood.’
In recent weeks, IS has made calls for ‘lone attackers’ to strike at the tournament in Russia which starts on June 14.
Another of its posters shows a terrorist seemingly carrying an explosive into a stadium with the message: ‘FIFA World Cup 2018 – Victory will be Ours.’
In March, Messi was the subject of an IS poster depicting him as a captive in an orange jumpsuit often seen being worn by victims in execution videos.
