An inconvenient truth?

-

HAVING spent £8 on a taxi to get home when it is normally free on the bus, I must ask who is benefiting from the European Championships?

It certainly is not the citizens of Glasgow. We are having to put up with buses unable to follow their route, unable to run on time and the bus users having no idea when and if a bus will turn up.

Over the past few days there has been nothing but frustration to the Glaswegians without any real benefits. There has been twice the inconvenience we experienced during the Commonwealth Games.

However, the hotels are cheering, with No Vacancies signs up.

I am sure events could have been organised without the total disruption of traffic around the city. Berlin can have them.

THOMAS ROBERTSON, Glasgow. CYCLING time trials do not carry the same excitement as the Tour de France where a mass of riders battle it out wheel to wheel.

And whoever designed a course that impinged on the M8 (Mail) – a route that is chaotic at the best of times – wants their head looked at!

JIM HAY, Glasgow.
