Delight for Motherwell as cult-hero Aldred returns

motheRWeLL have filled the void left by Cedric Kipre’s departure by re-signing tom aldred on a season-long loan from Bury. the 27-year-old became a popular figure at Fir Park after helping the Steelmen reach the Scottish Cup final in a previous loan stint during the second half of last season. the former Blackpool centre-back could face hamilton on Saturday after returning following Kipre’s £1million move to Wigan. ‘I am buzzing to be back,’ said aldred. ‘It doesn’t feel as if I have been away. ‘Just getting back into the stadium, it reignited great memories of last season and I’m keen to kick on again. ‘I am excited to start a season in Scotland and my hope is we can kick on again.’ motherwell boss Stephen Robinson said: ‘When Cedric left for Wigan, we immediatel­y turned to tom. he knows the club, so we hope he can slot back in fairly quickly.’
