Lonely elephant packs his trunk
POP star Cher travelled to Pakistan yesterday to celebrate the new-found freedom of the ‘world’s loneliest elephant’.
Kaavan has lived in a zoo in Islamabad for 35 years. He lost his partner in 2012 and has been diagnosed as obese due to his poor diet, and suffers with behavioural issues.
But Kaavan is now packing up his trunk and will meet the singer, 74, before heading off to a sanctuary in Cambodia.
The battle for his relocation began in 2016 and after hearing his story, Cher campaigned for his resettlement alongside Four Paws – an animal welfare group.
