Two uniformed officers were injured when around 200 of the protesters lined a metal fence to demand the resignation of manager Neil Lennon after his side lost 2-0 to Ross County in the last 16 of the Scottish League Cup.
Rows of officers in stab vests, around 30 police vans and a helicopter were dispatched to stop f ans reaching the entrance to the stadium.
Justice minister Humza Yousaf tweeted: ‘Officers have been front and centre keeping us safe during this pandemic, to treat them this way at any time is shameful, to do it during these times is a disgrace.’
No arrests were made at the protest.
