Botanics reopens
Scotland’s four royal botanic gardens reopened on 1 July as coronavirus lockdown restrictions continued to ease. Visitors to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh need to book tickets for specific time slots to enter the site, with the number of guests limited to 2,000 each day. Speaking as Benmore, Dawyck, Edinburgh and Logan reopened, regius keeper Simon Milne explained that while travel restrictions remain in place, all four gardens will be restricted to welcoming their local communities for the immediate future. He believes that this is ‘a hugely important step in our return to extended outreach’. www.rbge.org.uk
