OUT OF FASHION

-

Archaeologists have found what could be evidence of Scotland’s oldest textiles. They believe that a piece of fabric left an impression on a wet clay pot at the Ness of Brodgar on Orkney some 5,000 years ago. The only other piece of evidence suggesting the use of woven textiles in Neolithic Scotland was another clay imprint discovered in 1966 near Stranraer.
