Q: I have read that when fish­ing for cod in coloured water, it is best to use large worm baits in or­der to en­sure a strong scent trail. Just how large should these baits be?

DL says: When us­ing ei­ther lug or rag for cod, i like to use a bait about the length of my hand, from the wrist to the fin­ger tips. a bait this size will be large enough to at­tract fish in coloured water, and small enough for codling to take, as well as very big fish.
