NOT ONLY ANGLERS AT FAULT

Sea Angler (UK) - - Mailbox -

In reply to Cllr Russell Cherry (issue 527), I disagree with how much rubbish is left behind by so-called anglers at Tilbury Fort seawall. It seems that everyone is quick to blame a certain minority of people rather than the majority.

Firstly, I am a regular visitor to the area and, yes, there is a certain amount of litter, but no more than any other street in Thurrock.

As anglers, we should clear up after ourselves but so should everybody else. This leads me to the subject of the huge amount of dog mess along this stretch. Does Mr Cherry not want to upset the dog lovers? I applaud the idea of a clean-up, but the council has a duty to supply dog bins as well as other bins.

Don’t just pick on anglers. Could I suggest that you send a dog warden to this area once in a while and catch the culprits.
