DL says: Boats vary considerably from camp to camp, but, from my experience, most open aluminium boats are only suitable for use in sheltered water, which generally means within the fjord.

The camp will tell you where the limits of operation for their particular boats are, and should also give daily weather advice that may further limit the recommended range of operation.

Some camps offer upgrades to larger, more seaworthy boats, which might be worth considering.
