Q: A lot of people are starting to use motors on their kayaks. Is this a form of cheating?

GR says: Not really. I have used one occasionally. They extend the range of the kayak and allow you to discover and fish new marks and that can never be a bad thing.

There is a school of thought that states if it is not paddled then it’s not a kayak, but motors and pedal systems are becoming increasingly popular.

They appeal to some and not to others, but fishing and the enjoyment gained is a purely subjective thing. If you don’t agree with using a motor then don’t use one, but respect the choices of others.
