Q: I picked up some accessories in the States but the bolts deteriorated quickly. How do I avoid this in the future?

GR says: The majority of our kayak fishing is on saltwater, but in America there are many freshwater anglers. Some of their gear and products may be suitable for freshwater but not for corrosive salt.

When making alterations to your kayak make sure that any parts and hardware you use are of marine grade. In particular, pay attention to any rivets, bolts or screws that you intend using. This will ensure the longevity of your installation and that it will be suitable for use in salt and freshwater.
