The 12/20 lacks the backbone to effectively set the hook into the bigger fish, but is perfect for the smaller stuff. If the rod spigot is wet or not absolutely fully engaged, the blank section can move out of alignment with the reel when you strike a larger fish.

Being picky, the reel has a distinctive click whenever retrieving line, but it is part of the design and I’ve got used to it.
