Great catches from our ju­nior read­ers.

Kian Ni­chol­son en­joyed a pro­duc­tive ses­sion in More­cambe Bay re­cently when he bagged four good plaice weigh­ing up to 2lb 4oz. The 10-year-old from Clitheroe, Lancs, used black lug tipped with squid on a two-hook flap­per rig.

Matthew Con­nelly, who comes from Pon­typridd in the Rhondda, South Wales, caught this de­cent floun­der dur­ing a shore fish­ing ses­sion at Cardiff Bar­rage. The 14-year-old used rag­worms tipped with squid for bait.

A beach ses­sion at Seaford, East Sus­sex, yielded this crack­ing 2lb 12oz plaice for Jack Brumwell. The Can­vey Is­land, Es­sex an­gler used a two-hook loop rig armed with black lug tipped with squid to tempt the large flat­tie.

Not only did Har­ley Thomp­son (6), from Jar­row, Tyne & Wear, win the ju­nior sec­tion in a Ry­hope SAC match, but he came sec­ond in the se­nior event too! He used frozen black lug tipped with white-worms to catch a floun­der and whit­ing dou­ble.

Ply­mouth, Devon an­gler Jack Brock­man, aged 15, suc­ceeded in tempt­ing this 3lb 2oz mul­let with a piece of float­ing bread crust when he fished from a pon­toon in his lo­cal har­bour.

On his third beach fish­ing trip, Ethan Austin, from Can­ter­bury, Kent, used a black lug and squid combo on a two-hook pater­nos­ter rig to land this whit­ing that weighed 1lb 3oz.
