Sea Angler (UK) - - YOUR FISHING -

Kyle Sibbald is ticking off species from his wish list. Having this year caught a 29lb 9oz tope and a 11lb 2oz smoothhound, he fished at Workington pier in Cumbria and added his first bull huss from the shore.

It fell to two sides of mackerel on an up-and-over rig with size 3/0 Mustad Uptide Viking hooks. The chunky fish was not weighed, but Kyle reckons it was at least 10lb.

“I’m getting the targets rattled off this year. Roll on the winter runs to Arbroath, Montrose and the North East to get a double-figure cod,” said the angler from Workington.

Shortly afterwards he joined his pal Mark Scott (right) for a trip to a rock mark in south-west Scotland where they caught six huss, including three doubles for Mark, and four rays.
