SIGN UP FOR TOP MATCH
Tickets are now on sale for Britain’s largest shore fishing match and its warm-up event, which take place on the East Yorkshire coast on February 15-17.
The 26th Paul Roggeman European Open Beach Championships is based at Sand le Mere Holiday Village, Tunstall, near Withernsea. This main championship event is on February 16 and 17 with fishing from 9am to 3pm each day between Bridlington North Beach and Spurn Point Pilot Jetty. The weigh-in times at Sand le Mere will be 3pm-4pm.
The competition has developed over many years into one of the largest events of its kind. There is a superb prize fund for the overall two-day winners, including the first prize of £4,000. This means the winner of the event could walk away with a staggering £8,000 thanks to the two separate daily prize funds.
You can now book competition tickets and accommodation at Sand le Mere Holiday Village. For further information or to purchase tickets for the European Open, go to www.eobc.co.uk. Accommodation should be booked directly through Sand le Mere Holiday Village, tel: 01964 670403.
As a warm-up to the big event, the popular EOBC Flattie Bash will be held at Hornsea and Mappleton. This year the Flattie Bash, which is fished catch and release, will be zoned. For information, visit www.eobc.co.uk or contact Flattie Bash organiser George Smith, tel: 07857 550125. Tickets, costing £10, are only available on the day at Hornsea Floral Hall; registration will be from 8am-10.30am.
