FOUR new ships will be added to Uni­world’s fleet over the next three years. The lux­ury line will launch ves­sels on the Nile, the Douro and the Mekong in 2020, and a new ship on the Volga in Rus­sia in 2021, re­plac­ing ex­ist­ing ves­sels in each des­ti­na­tion and putting them in line with Uni­world’s cus­tom-built ‘Su­per Ships’ it has in Europe.

FRED. River Cruises has an­nounced it is now the of­fi­cial UK GSA for Amer­i­can Cruise Lines. It will of­fer 35 sail­ings across 25 states on mod­ern river boats, coastal cruise ships and pad­dle­wheel­ers, in­clud­ing cruises on the Mis­sis­sippi.

AVALON Wa­ter­ways and its sis­ter brand, Cos­mos, have an­nounced a sig­nif­i­cant ex­pan­sion of its sales team and greater com­mit­ment to the trade. The new sales re­cruits will be work­ing to ed­u­cate agents about Avalon’s move to an all-suite fleet from 2019 and the ex­pan­sion of its Asian river cruise pro­gramme to in­clude the Ganges from 2019.
