Daw­nay Es­tates char­ity clay shoot raises £ 42,700 for two good causes

A char­ity clay shoot held on the grounds of Wyke­ham Abbey near Scar­bor­ough has raised more than an as­ton­ish­ing £ 40,000 for Saint Cather­ine’s Hospice and the GWCT.

The shoot, or­gan­ised by the Daw­nay Es­tates, saw 46 teams shoot and then en­joy an auc­tion, which in­cluded a plethora of lots.

David bar­rett, Daw­nay Es­tates as­sis­tant agent, said: “We are de­lighted to have raised such a huge amount of money for our cho­sen char­i­ties this year. Saint Cather­ine’s Hospice and the GWCT are two char­i­ties that carry out amaz­ing work and are very close to our hearts.

“Our thanks must go to our spon­sors – Lan­g­leys Solic­i­tors, Ad­dplant, Lycetts, Twisted Au­to­mo­tive, mccain – and all those who at­tended on the day.”

Nicky Grun­well, fundraiser for Saint Cather­ine’s, said: “We are thrilled that The Daw­nay Es­tates chose to sup­port Saint Cather­ine’s with this event. It was a truly won­der­ful day en­joyed by all and we are over the moon that we have re­ceived such a fan­tas­tic do­na­tion.”
