Aldi won’t endorse anti-shooters
Aldi has asked Ethical Consumer to remove its logo from its website.
While the supermarket chain said that it does not participate in corporate grouse shooting, it added that this position does not mean it endorses any wider anti-shooting campaigns.
As revealed in our recent report (News, 23 August), Aldi was the last to respond out of a number of firms whose logos were used by Ethical Consumer without permission in its campaign against grouse shooting.
Garry Doolan, BASC’S head of press relations, said: “Of the 12 companies claimed to have originally supported this ill-conceived campaign when Chris Packham began tweeting about it, the reality is that they have all fallen away under scrutiny.”
