Sneak preview of new Royal Flush shooting competition
Shooting Times was invited to a special preview last week ahead of the Royal Berkshire Shooting School’s (RBSS) new shooting competition, the Royal Flush, which opened on Monday.
Fifty guests were given a taster session on each of the five sequences, followed by a champagne reception and lunch.
Shooting Times Editor Patrick Galbraith said: “It was a huge pleasure to be invited to one of Britain’s best shooting schools for the launch of one of the sport’s premier competitions. I must admit that when I heard there was going to be a walked-up stand I couldn’t see how it could possibly work. Actually, though, it was probably the highlight of the layout. If only I’d shot a bit straighter.”
To enter the Royal Flush, competitors must shoot 100 targets off five 20-bird sequences. The top 30 entrants qualify for the final where they must shoot at least 92 out of 100 to win the top prize — a choice of five luxury sporting holiday destinations worth up to £30,000. There is also £1,000 for each top Gun on the five stands during the qualifying period.
