CUTTING AND JOININGTHE STRIPS

Step one Cut your print fabric into eight equal width strips each 48cm (18#⁄"in) long. Sew two of these right sides (RS) together at the short ends to make one long strip. Repeat to join the other two strips in the same way.

Step two Press the seams open and then topstitch the seam allowances down about 2mm ($⁄"in) either side of the seam.

CUTTING AND JOININGTHE STRIPS

Step one Pin the two strips RS together. Draw a point at each end of the strip, making sure they are exactly the same. Mark a turning gap about 5cm (2in) along from one of the drawn tie points. Your turning gap should be about 6cm (2!⁄"in) wide. This is marked in the photo with orange pins.

Step two Sew your strips together, starting at one end of the turning gap and working all the way around to the other end. Reverse stitch at the start and the end of your stitching to secure the seam.

Step three Turn RS out through the turning gap. Press it flat then slip stitch the turning gap closed to finish.
