CUTTING OUT

Step one From the print fabric cut out:

Bow body: cut two pieces, 20x10cm (8x4in). Bow centres: cut two pieces 5x3.5cm (3x1!⁄"in).

MAKINGTHE BOW S

Step one Take one bow centre and fold the top long edge over to the centre with wrong sides (WS) together.

Step two Fold the bottom long edge up so it just overlaps the centre to make a long sausage. Repeat with the other bow centre.

Step three On the two bow pieces, mark the horizontal and vertical centre lines on the WS. Step four Fold the two long edges WS together so they meet at the centre along the marked line. Next, fold the two short edges inwards to the marked central short line. Pin in place.

Step five Sew the two folded edges down.

Step six Gather the centre of the folded sewn strip with a running stitch to form a bow.

Step seven Wrap the folded bow centre around the middle of the bow and stitch in place.

Step eight Dab some glue onto the back of the shoe clip and press onto the back of the sewn bow. Once dried, sew it on for strength.
