Appeal as woman is attacked by dog
Victim was also racially abused in park
POLICE are investigating after a woman was attacked by a dog and racially abused in a Birmingham park.
The 53- year- old victim ended up in hospital following the terrifying ordeal in Swanshurst Park, Yardley Wood.
The woman was walking in the park at around 2.30am on Saturday, August 19, when she was attacked by a German Shepherd.
She was also racially abused and assaulted by a man who was with the dog.
The man left the park with the animal following the incident.
The victim suffered puncture wounds to her elbow and knee in the attack and required hospital treatment.
Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident, or who may know the man involved, to come forward.
He is described as being white and of skinny build, approximately 5ft 9ins tall and was aged between 35 and 45.
He had a narrow face, was clean- shaven and had a pale complexion. He was wearing a grey tracksuit. The dog is described as a short- haired German Shepherd. It was brown and black in colour.
PC Adrian Graham, from the investigation team at Stechford police station, said: “This was a really nasty assault which has left the victim very shaken.
“It’s very concerning that this man has used an animal to harm this woman in an unprovoked attack.
