Nick gears up for charity bid for children
THE chief executive of Solihull Council is set to take on a series of challenges aimed at raising funds to provide fun events for the borough’s children in care.
Nick Page has pledged to complete six sessions including a fire engine pull and Bollywood dancing class.
All money raised will be managed by Our Voice, Our Services ( OVOS), Solihull’s children in care council who will plan events such as go karting and bowling, for next year.
Councillor Ken Meeson, Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Skills, said: “Solihull Council takes its responsibility for the children in our care very seriously; councillors and officers want to give them the best start in life possible.
“Last year we raised more than £ 1,000 to give them the kind of experiences other children take for granted.”
You can donate by sending a cheque payable to SMBC and addressed to: Chief Executive’s Office, Council House, Manor Square, B91 3QB. There will also be a street collection during the fire engine pull on the High Street on Tuesday, September 19, at 2pm.
