A GIFTED guitarist at The Sixth Form College, Solihull has been awarded a music bursary after auditioning at a public concert.

Jacob Fulford, who is 18, won the £ 150 bursary from the Heartfield- Wharam Scholarship, to spend on music tuition.

He impressed the judges with his performance of Capricho Árabe by Francisco Tárrega.

Music teacher Chris Phelps said: “With ten students auditioning, it was very difficult for the judges to pick a winner. We felt that the standard was very high and we congratulate the students for their performances.”

The next concert takes place at Christmas. Tickets are available now for the free Christmas Concert on Wednesday, December 13, at 7pm by calling 0121 704 2581 or emailing marketing@ solihullsfc. ac. uk
