MP backs campaign
IT’S almost the season for Christmas parties and that means a festive tipple or two for many.
But when does alcohol consumption become a concern?
Shocking figures from the Office for National Statistics show there were 7,327 alcohol- related deaths in the UK in 2016.
So on Monday, Meriden MP Caroline Spelman will be supporting Alcohol Awareness Week.
The Solihull Integrated Addiction Service ( SIAS) campaign in Solihull is being run in partnership with Alcohol Concern and Adfam. Mrs Spelman said: “I am proud to lend my support to SIAS’s Alcohol Awareness Week campaign in order to highlight the risks associated with drinking too much alcohol and to raise awareness of the excellent support services they offer locally.”
The SIAS team will be out in the borough meeting members of the community throughout next week.
