Air­port gives a warm wel­come as ho­tel opens

A NEW ho­tel has opened at Birm­ing­ham Air­port.

The Hil­ton Gar­den Inn is 100 me­tres from the ter­mi­nal build­ing and joins other op­er­a­tors Trav­elodge, Novo­tel, Hol­i­day Inn, Ibis and Ibis Bud­get.

There are 178 bed­rooms, a bar and bistro called The Odyssey, a 24- hour busi­ness cen­tre, two meet­ing rooms and a fit­ness room. Jo Lloyd, busi­ness de­vel­op­ment direc­tor at Birm­ing­ham Air­port, said: “Last year, we ex­pe­ri­enced our busiest year to date with nearly 13 mil­lion peo­ple trav­el­ling through our air­port doors.

“With this fig­ure set to in­crease, it’s im­por­tant we have ho­tel fa­cil­i­ties avail­able ei­ther on­site or near the air­port to ac­com­mo­date cus­tomers who need to stop over. We’re de­lighted to have added Hil­ton Gar­den Inn Birm­ing­ham Air­port to our over­all ho­tel of­fer and hope our cus­tomers en­joy the award­win­ning Hil­ton brand.”

The ho­tel’s gen­eral man­ager Jonathan Smith added: “We’re de­lighted to of­fer trav­ellers con­ve­nient and great value ac­com­mo­da­tion and are ex­cited to grow the Hil­ton Gar­den Inn ex­pe­ri­ence in Birm­ing­ham.”
