Two men are charged over the murder of a ‘ loving dad’
TWO Solihull men have been charged with the murder of a “loving dad” who was killed in Wolverhampton.
Richard Helm, 37, was stabbed to death in the early hours of Friday, October 12, in Raven Cresent, Ashmore Park.
The father- of- four was found dead with knife wounds near to a burning car shortly after 5.15am.
He was discovered by police offic- ers who were sent to reports of trouble in the road.
The first man to be charged is Danny Cooper, 31, of Maytree Close, Chelmsley Wood, who was arrested on Sunday, October 21.
He appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Wednesday, October 24. He also is also charged with two counts of assault, two counts of criminal damage and arson.
The second man, Ashley Wilson, 27, of Guernsey Drive, Solihull, was arrested on Wednesday, October 24, and charged with murder.
He is also charged with two counts of criminal damage and arson.
Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the homicide team, said: “This is such a tragic waste of a life. Our thoughts remain with Richard’s family.”
Mr Helm’s family paid a heartbreaking tribute to him in the days after his death.
Released via West Midlands Police, the family said: “Richard was a loving son, husband and father to four young children. He has been taken from us too soon.”
