On January 21, youngsters can have a go at making wild bird feeders using natural materials.

The feeders can be taken home and hung in gardens ready for the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch which is taking place on January 28-30.

On January 28, the Amelia Trust Farm is encouraging families to come along and help out with its big birdwatch. Families can meet outside the cafe at 11am for a walk around the farm and woodlands to spot as many different species of birds as possible.

On February 11, families are invited to join farm staff to volunteer with the annual Big Farmland Bird count organised by the Game and Wildlife Trust.

Families can meet outside the cafe at 11am for a walk around the farm to see how many different species of birds can be found.

After the walk there will be the chance for children to have a go at making some bird feeders.

Full details of all these events can be found on the events section of the Amelia Trust Farm’s website www. ameliatrust.org.uk

Some of the events require prebooking and are being held as a fundraiser for the Amelia Trust Farm.
