The fol­low­ing cases were heard at Cardiff Mag­is­trates’ Court:

Robert Jones, 38, of Lyd­step Cres­cent, Ga­balfa, Cardiff, admitted steal­ing meat worth up to £50 from Tesco in Cardiff. He also admitted breach­ing two com­mu­nity or­ders im­posed for pre­vi­ous theft of­fences and a sus­pended sen­tence for han­dling stolen goods. He was com­mit­ted to prison for 13 weeks and or­dered to pay a £115 vic­tim sur­charge.

An­war Sha­bani, 30, of Paget Street, Grange­town, Cardiff, was fined £120 for driv­ing with­out in­sur­ance. He re­ceived six points on his driv­ing record and was or­dered to pay £30 to­wards vic­tim ser­vices, plus £85 to­wards pros­e­cu­tion costs. No sep­a­rate penalty was made for driv­ing with­out a li­cence.

Paul Pow­ell, 68, of Cum­nock Place, Splott, Cardiff, admitted dump­ing eight bags of rub­bish in the street. He was fined £80 and or­dered to pay £30 to­wards vic­tim ser­vices, as well as costs of £75 to the Crown Pros­e­cu­tion Service.
