LOOK WHO’S BEEN IN COURT
The following cases were heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court:
Robert Jones, 38, of Lydstep Crescent, Gabalfa, Cardiff, admitted stealing meat worth up to £50 from Tesco in Cardiff. He also admitted breaching two community orders imposed for previous theft offences and a suspended sentence for handling stolen goods. He was committed to prison for 13 weeks and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
Anwar Shabani, 30, of Paget Street, Grangetown, Cardiff, was fined £120 for driving without insurance. He received six points on his driving record and was ordered to pay £30 towards victim services, plus £85 towards prosecution costs. No separate penalty was made for driving without a licence.
Paul Powell, 68, of Cumnock Place, Splott, Cardiff, admitted dumping eight bags of rubbish in the street. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £30 towards victim services, as well as costs of £75 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
