T’S not always easy taking out a toddler.

They tend to be very energetic, very demanding and very prone to temper tantrums. So when you do want to get out of the house with the little one in tow, it’s always far nicer to go somewhere toddlers are made to feel welcome.

And that’s why we’ve rounded up some of the most toddler-friendly places and events in the Welsh capital that will keep your kids amused and happy.

If you want to go somewhere for a coffee that offers guilt-free pleasures for you and your little one, head to this friendly cafe in the heart of Whitchurch.

It’s perfect for breastfeeding mums with a Cariad’s “Love You” menu that delivers fuel to you and the baby. Toddlers can get stuck into some sumptuous smoothies and children’s meals like quesadilla panini pizzas, toasties or pasta with homemade sauce.

It also offers mummy massages, hosts kids’ parties and baby showers and will soon be offering cupcake

Once a month, during term time, pre-school children take priority on Techniquest’s exhibition floor.

There are additional activities, including storytime, mini-disco and craft tables, all aimed at encouraging young children to take their first steps in science.

The bright colours on the exhibition floor appeal to young children, who are encouraged to explore. Techniquest is also buggy-friendly, with nappy-changing facilities and lockers available.
